New York Man Must Remind Everyone He Was There On 9/11

Residents of Mooresville say they have reached their breaking point with a local man who constantly reminds people that he was in New York during 9/11.
Moe Geronimo, a newer resident of Mooresville, has quickly reached a reputation with the town. This is because he constantly reminds everyone he meets that he lived in New York during the September 11th attacks at the World Trade Center.
This is the only thing residents can recall about the man and that these constant reminders have begun to wear them down.
“Ive met the guy five times, but he has told me about 9/11 at least ten times.” says Jerome Watkins. “At this point, I can’t ask him anything without the conversation turning into a 9/11 story. Just the other day I asked him if he saw the MooresvilleNews.org story on the mayor and that somehow ended up with him describing where he was when the second plane hit.”
Watkins says he now avoids Geronimo as best as he can.
“My son is stationed in the UAE and I was worried about him being bombed!” says concerned mother Krysti Reyes, “When I tried opening up about my worries to Moe, he kept saying it was nothing compared to 9/11 and how scary it was.”
Geronimo's neighbor, Doug Henson, has also expressed frustration.
“I was complaining about my grass dying and asking if he had any tips. Next thing I know he’s saying ‘Don’t bring up death, it’ll just remind me of that time in New York… on 9/11… when I was there… on 9/11… in New York.’”
Despite the growing frustrations, residents are worried about bringing up the issue.
“I really want to say something,” says Brent Anthony, Geronimo’s mechanic, who claims to have heard the story a dozen times. “But I just can’t do it. I can’t sound un-American. Especially in this town.”
Anthony says that the entire mechanic shop feels the same way.
“Every single time he comes to get service done, we all just nod and wait for him to finish. Nobody wants to stop him. It’s like stopping someone from talking about their dying relative.”
To better understand the situation, the Mooresville News team decided to speak with Geronimo himself and ask if he was aware of the complaints.
“Well…” he paused, “When I was in New York… on 9/11…”
Geromino then continued to speak about his experience in New York on 9/11 for the next two and a half hours.
“People just don’t get it, if others were there, on 9/11, in New York, then they would understand. I bring it up so people remember. Not just 9/11, but the fact that I was there when it happened.”
When our reporter managed to sneak a question regarding his life in Mooresville he responded, “It’s a great place to raise children, it’s nice and quiet… Nothing like New York was… especially on 9/11…”
Our reporters managed to slip out when Geronimo went to grab his photo album.
